Collection, processing and use of your data

The type and scope of the collection and use of your personal data differs depending on whether you are visiting our website purely for informational purposes or using services offered by us via the website. In addition to simply browsing our website, we offer various services, such as password-protected areas for the "JFP Patent File Manager" and the IP Academy, a contact form, and newsletter registration. To use these services, you will need to provide additional personal data. For example, we require your email address to contact you. Your personal data will only be collected and used for the purpose of providing the service you have requested.

Our newsletter contains current information about our company, developments in IP law, industry news, and events. We use a double opt-in process for newsletter registration. This means that after you provide your email address, we will send a confirmation email to that address, asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm within 24 hours, your registration will be automatically deleted. If you confirm your wish to receive the newsletter, we will store your email address and IP address at the time of registration and confirmation until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link provided in every newsletter email, by sending an email to unsubscribe-newsletter@jfp-patent.de, or via other communication channels.

When collecting your data, we will inform you, in accordance with the requirements of Article 13 of the GDPR, about the purpose, the legal basis, and the storage period for each data collection.

We embed videos on the website that are stored on the platforms of the operators YouTube ("YouTube",http://www.youtube.com) or Vimeo ("Vimeo", https://vimeo.com/) gespeichert sind.

YouTube videos are embedded on our website using "enhanced privacy mode." According to YouTube, this means that data about you is only transmitted to YouTube when you play the video by clicking the play button. However, we have no influence on, nor detailed knowledge of, the timing, content, or scope of this data transmission, as the connection is established directly between your browser and the operator's platform, regardless of whether you are logged in or registered there at the time.   2. to request from the controller the immediate rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of incomplete personal data (Art. 16 GDPR).
  3. to request from the controller that personal data concerning you be erased without undue delay if one of the grounds listed in Article 17 GDPR applies, e.g. if the data are no longer needed for the purposes for which they were collected (right to erasure).
  4. to request from the controller the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Article 18 GDPR is met, e.g. if the data subject has objected to the processing, for the duration of the examination by the controller.
  5. You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you. The controller will then no longer process the personal data unless the controller demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves the purpose of establishing, exercising or defending legal claims (Art. 21 GDPR).
  6. Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR). You may exercise this right with a supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
